Life of Earth
2025
digital drawing, 2360 x 1640 px
printed, 12.5 x 18 inches
Life of Earth represents the different stages that the Earth has undergone, from its beginning as a stellar nebula to a molten world, having intense volcanic activity, global glaciation, and the rise of life, all leading to the modern Earth we know today. Alongside Earth's evolution, it includes how the Moon formed and evolved. The piece begins on the right with a planetary nebula, representing the cosmic matter that would gradually create the fiery mass of early Earth. Earth becomes a red-hot, molten sphere bombarded by asteroids and cosmic debris. Then, the impact of Theia ejects a significant amount of debris that would eventually become the Moon. Afterwards, the surface of the Earth cools, and water arrives alongside intense volcanic activity that changes the atmosphere. Snowball earth follows, in which ice dominates the planet until eventually melting, making way for new life. Then, the period of plants and dinosaurs is showcased. Finally, the artwork illustrates, on the left, modern Earth, including humans, mammals, trees, cities, airplanes, and more. This piece demonstrates the Earth's and the Moon's evolution to get where it is today.
